Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a stark warning to neighboring Gulf countries, urging them to prevent the United States and Israel from using their territories to conduct military operations against Iran. The message came as the conflict between Iran and the US crossed the one-month mark with no signs of slowing down. Pezeshkian delivered his remarks through a post on X, making his position publicly clear to the entire region.
The war has drawn several Gulf nations into its orbit, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar. American forces have been launching strikes against Iran from military bases located within these countries. In response, Iran has been retaliating with strikes targeting those same locations.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran does not strike first but will respond forcefully when its infrastructure or economic centers are attacked. “To the countries of the region: If you want development and security, don’t let our enemies run the war from your lands,” he wrote. This statement signals Tehran’s frustration with Gulf neighbors it views as complicit in the conflict.
Pakistan has emerged as a critical diplomatic bridge in this ongoing crisis, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealing that Pezeshkian stressed the need for trust before any formal negotiations can begin. Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey are set to convene in Pakistan to explore pathways toward de-escalation. Pakistan’s foreign minister Ishaq Dar will host and participate in these high-level talks.
The regional diplomatic push reflects growing concern that the conflict could spiral further out of control if left unchecked. Pakistan’s role as a mediator has been praised by Tehran, with Pezeshkian commending Islamabad’s peace efforts. The coming days of multilateral dialogue could prove decisive in determining whether the region moves toward stability or deeper conflict.
